A dynamo collaboration featuring electronic heavyweights Galantis, acoustic duo Rodrigo y Gabriela and the iconic sportsman Pele has come to fruition, unveiling a thrilling remix of ‘Acredita No Véio’ (Listen To The Old Man).

The original version recorded to mark the football legend’s 80th birthday was released in October. It quickly became a staple on radio worldwide, getting playlisted on BBC Radio 2 and Capital FM. Elsewhere garnering significant traction in the regions of France, Columbia, Italy, Mexico and Brazil.

Pele and Rodrigo y Gabriela have now enlisted Swedish superstars Galantis for an exciting remix breathing new life into the already-effervescent track. Coming off the heels of their recent singles, ‘Only A Fool’ with Pink Sweat$ and Ship Wrek, ‘The Lake’ featuring Wrabel and ‘I Fly’ which was included on the official soundtrack for blockbuster movie ‘SCOOB!’

Speaking on the new collaboration, Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson of Galantis said – “It was such an honour and privilege to work with Pelé!! Yes, THAT PELÉ!!!! One of the greatest athletes ever and a truly legendary soccer player. Before we started working together, I had no idea Pelé was also a great songwriter with an AMAZING voice! This song was a great way to celebrate Pelé and his 80th birthday this year!”

Earlier this year, the Grammy-nominated duo released their first album in three years ‘Church’, featuring explosive single ‘Faith’ with country music legend Dolly Parton and Dutch singer-songwriter Mr Probz. ‘Faith’ received its first play on the World’s Biggest Dance Show, hosted by BBC Radio 1, and syndicated across seven countries to an audience of over 18 million listeners.

Upon release, the single debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Chart before rapidly hitting #1 Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart, where it remained for five weeks. ‘Faith’ has amassed over 33 million streams and over 8 million music video views to date, in tandem with support from Rolling Stone, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight and more.

This past February, the duo also teamed up with WaveXR to transform into real-time custom avatars for a live virtual reality concert special. The performance was part of the OneWave Benefit Concert Series benefitting MusiCares and the AdCouncil, amassing over 1 million views.

Since their 2015 international breakthrough with ‘Runaway (You & I)’, Galantis have established themselves as one of hottest names in dance music. They have remixed hit songs from Sam Smith, Selena Gomez and Ed Sheeran to name a few and their music videos have collectively been watched more than 1.2 billion times on YouTube.
