Hekler is making his return to Bassrush Records alongside BLVK JACK.
“BUMPIN” is a heavy-hitting festival anthem that mixes brash rap verses, off-kilter hip-hop influence, and ruthless riddim. The track serves as a follow-up to Hekler’s 10-track debut album ‘Abyss,’ which was released on the label earlier this year.
Staying true to its title, “BUMPIN” is a banging genre-bending effort that’s primed for festival season destruction. Kicking off with a screwy hip-hop beat and an underlying alarm-like build, the introduction is a warning of the mayhem that lies ahead. BLVK JVCK flexes his vocal chops with a mischievous verse that exudes swagger and a carefree finesse. The drops serve to open up the pit with rowdy metallic sound design driving the grimace-inducing dubstep ruckus. Siren-like synths collide with punchy percussion, and grimy speaker-rattling low-end, while BLVCK JVCK drifts in and out to balance the energy. The gritty industrial direction scores this futuristic destroyer that is assured to leave broken rails and necks in its wake.
Hekler shares his excitement around the release: “‘Bumpin’ has to easily be one of my favorite songs to play in my sets. The energy the crowd has when the drop hits is absolutely insane. BLVK JVCK delivered massively on this, as well—the energy in the studio was definitely captured in the track. I’m stoked to be teaming up with Bassrush to bring this monstrous song to the world.”
BLVK JVCK provides further insight into their working process, saying: “Hekler and I talked about putting something together for a while. We finally got things going and cooked up a few rough ideas. He was feeling one and sent it back with the chorus and the second drop. I put a verse on it and flipped it, making sure we were fully ‘Bumpin.’ It just felt right!”

He’s hot off of his debut album ‘Abyss’ which was released on Bassrush earlier this year. North Carolina’s BLVK JVCK is a fast-rising rapper and producer with a résumé to be lauded. He recently made his debut on Bassrush alongside VRG with “NOW U KNOW,” as part of the label’s ‘The Prophecy: Vol 7’ compilation. He’s one-half of the legendary production duo the Runners, whose production credits include superstars from the likes of DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber. BLVK JVCK has been taking over the electronic scene with a slew of notable releases including the standout VIP remix for “Cash Cow” alongside NGHTMRE and Gunna.
