Enigmatic melodic bass artist is returning to Lost In Dreams Records with a tumultuous offering aptly titled ‘waves,’ serving as the project’s sophomore single on the burgeoning label.

Back in July, the anonymous producer sprinted out of the gate with a lofty label debut arriving in the shape of “only way out,” an awe-stuck creation swirling around a woozy blend of crunchy 8-bit melodies, gentle guitar strings, scampering arps, and heart-palpitating vocals.

By all accounts, it was an exemplary first appearance by one of the brightest talents fresh on the scene. Exploring a more disconcerting area of the human condition, helloworld delves into the inner workings of emotional conflict with the latest offering.

Intent on capturing the rocky exchanges between two connected souls, “waves” brews up an emotional storm through its turbulent structure. The pain is palpable in every vocal croon, with softly delivered words “sometimes I don’t know why I fight back // but it’s all just a game” playing into the push and pull dynamic often felt in moments of disagreement.

Ripples of glitchy sound design slowly swell in intensity and frequency over brooding pads and delicate drums, until a tsunami of digitized synth sequences pulls the listener straight into the eye of the storm.

“When I think about some of the feelings and the sounds I want to portray through helloworld, ‘waves’ is a perfect example,” says helloworld. “This song, to me, represents the more experimental and emotional side of the project and writing it was some of the most fun I’ve had creatively. What better home than Lost In Dreams? So happy about the support and platform that they have given me and the things they are doing for the more melodic and vocal-focused electronic music.”

In a brief but undeniably impressive span of time, helloworld has swiftly captivated the dance music landscape via a string of singles that has left the world wondering who’s pulling the strings behind the curtain.

Since launching the moniker in March, the explosive act has been welcomed with open arms while garnering radio support from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale Show, Zeds Dead’s Triple J Mix, Illenium, and Alison Wonderland. On the fast track to international acclaim, the mysterious figure was included in the ’11 emerging artists you need to hear this September’ in the print edition of DJ Mag. Suffice to say, it’s been a banner breakout year for the hotly tipped newcomer.

Get swept away by the brilliant tides of helloworld’s latest single ‘waves,’ out now via Lost In Dreams.
