London based up and coming Trip-Hop artist Ishani releases her first official single as a free download.
‘Don’t Stop The Fight’, also the official music score to augmented reality comic book ‘Priya’s Mirror’, will be available as a free download as of today on Ishani’s official SoundCloud page.
Ishani Chakravarty is a London based artist who is about to burst into the music scene full force. Combining her colourful Indian background with the moody Downtempo music that influenced and shaped her as an artist, she is breathing some much-deserved new life into the Trip Hop genre as a whole.
‘Don’t Stop The Fight’ was the official music soundtrack to the second series of the hugely popular comic book series ‘Priya’s Shakti’ featuring the first female Indian superhero and rape survivor. Funded by the World Bank’s ‘WEvolve Global Initiative and partnering with one of the leading NGO’s supporting at-risk girls and woman Apne Aap Woman Worldwide the next edition – ‘Priya’s Mirror’ focuses on acid attacks and tackles the problem of sexual violence around the world. For this project creators Ram Devineni, Paromita Vohra and Dan Goldman have partnered with leading visual discovery and augmented reality app ‘Blippar’ to integrate cutting edge technology with this breakthrough series. By scanning the cover and pages of the comic book with the app, readers can unlock exclusive content including 3D-animation, real life stories, and other fully immersive experiences via their smartphone. Honoured by UN Woman as a “gender equality champion” and lauded by the likes of outlets such as The Huffington Post and the BBC the comic book already had over 500,000 downloads and views on social media.
