Jarreau Vandal, one of the freshest new talents rising out of the electronic scene, emerges today with new single, and Luna Mae collaboration – Scintilla.

Along with B-side ‘Break My Back’, these cuts are the first releases from Jarreau’s forthcoming mixtape, ‘Anthology’. This fourteen-track package will be his most comprehensive and multi-faceted musical endeavour to date, with release date now set for 28th September 2018.

Following on from hits with Zak Abel on ‘Make You Love Me’, and Radio 1Xtra B List collaboration with Olivia Nelson, ‘Someone That You Love’ – which now sits at 8m Spotify streams – ‘Scintilla’ once again showcases Jarreau’s innate ability to create a rich and soulful sound that nods to a multitude of genres whilst still maintaining a fresh originality. Drawing on live instrumentation has been a key component of this and ‘Scintilla’ continues the theme, with slap bass, brass sections, and guitar licks that neatly underpin Luna Mae’s smooth vocals.

“A scintilla is a spark or a tiny trace of a specified feeling. The song is inspired by the energy you feel when you fall in love. Wrapped in my answer to funk/soul” – Jarreau Vandal

Changing gear for the B-side is ‘Break My Back’, a trap-infused beat that features London-based MC, Ashnikko. With the club and festival circuit firmly in sight, the track illustrates Jarreau’s versatility as a producer and will be sending crowds into a frenzy in the months to come.

This single marks a new chapter for Jarreau. Having laid the foundations with his popular ‘Vandalized’ edits, Soulection shows, and high-energy DJ sets (including a sell-out run of European dates in March and a recent Mixmag Lab appearance), the Dutch talent is now primed to make the transition into a full-fledged artist and musician. ‘Anthology’, Jarreau’s largest and most stylistically eclectic body of work to date, will consolidate this evolution.
