LA-based DJ and yogi Jessica Skye reaches for transcendence on her hypnotic new single ‘Moon In Aries’, out 7th April on Platoon.
‘Moon In Aries’ is the second single from Skye’s forthcoming debut album FluōState 001 coming later this year, following the melodic groove of ‘Virgo Rising’. With hypnotic and ethereal vocals gliding over melodic ambient pads, ‘Moon In Aries’ is a deep, downtempo work designed to help you kickback, relax and find your flow.
“The whole body of work is intentionally designed to be an audio destination for you to find your flow state,” Skye says of her upcoming debut album, FluōState 001. Fluō is Latin for flow, and this project creates the perfect bridge between all of her endeavors across music and wellness. Entrancing wave-like soundscapes in tracks titled ‘AlphaBeta’ act as album bookends to both open and close the journey, and enhance a meditation practice. ‘Turiya’, ‘Find A Way’ and ‘Dusty Rhodes’, dropping in May this year, see Skye expand her sound and production with nostalgic nods to her 90s electronic and trip-hop influences, creating ebb, flow, tension and release. “The design and arrangement of each track is intentional to create a journey and arc of energy from start to finish,” the LA DJ says. “Let this be the backdrop to your self-care practice, however you like to find your Fluō State.”
Jessica Skye has been making waves in the wellness and music scene for the last decade, touring the globe teaching yoga by day and DJing by night. Working the dance floors from London to LA, standout shows have included iconic venues and festivals such as Ministry of Sound, Creamfields, Lovebox, Parklife, Snowbombing, as well as Feel Festival and Sisyphos, and supporting the likes of Groove Armada, Nightmares on Wax, Dave Lee and Todd Terry.
While the worlds of DJing and teaching yoga might seem polarised, for Jessica, dance music is spiritual and the two worlds hold so many parallels. Her DJ sets and productions – whether music-focused yoga retreats or events from the top of glaciers and sunny rooftops to countless festivals and sandy beaches – are designed to hold a safe space for people to unwind, move to the music and find a sense of flow.
Now based in LA, Jessica is an Apple Fitness+ trainer where she curates and leads yoga workouts, mindful cooldowns and meditations.
