Based out of Los Angeles, Kompany is a bass producer that has built a reputation for having the dexterity of a surgeon while delivering some of the heaviest dubstep bangers of all time.
The veteran producer is making his debut on Bassrush with the ravaging riddim weapon “Strapped.”
“Strapped” is a force of pure sonic devastation, hellbent on destroying any system in its path. The ominous introduction conjures imagery of a futuristic cityscape with a wickedness lurking on the horizon. Sinister vocals and twisted bass work together to drag listeners into the darkness before the track descends into a barrage of controlled chaos. Brutish bottom-end, ominous horn blares, chopped hip-hop vocals, and laser-sharp synth squelches collide for a raucous riddim explosion. Breaking up the blistering drops is a haunting melodic breakdown offering a bit of respite between the rapid-fire sequences. The epic interlude offers an exceptional counterpoint to the ravenous mayhem dwelling within the track’s climax. Fusing impeccable sound design with a murderous edge, Kompany reminds bassheads of his unrivaled greatness.
Kompany opens up on the creation process, saying, “This song happened really abruptly when I was in the middle of a super strong creative breakthrough. Everything came together really smoothly, and in a matter of days I had a full-blown tune done. I was messing with a lot of new layering and mixing techniques and was really happy with how well everything blended together.”
The artist shares his excitement to be making his debut with Bassrush: “I’ve always had so much love for Bassrush and how much they do for the bass community. Anytime I’m playing a Bassrush show or festival, I know it’s gonna be top tier. I’m so excited to have this tune coming out with them and can’t wait for the stuff we are working on for the future.”
Rising from the shadows, L.A-based producer Kompany has become one of the standout acts within the realm of dubstep. The Icon Collective graduate has been leveraging his background as a sound engineer to craft some of the most masterful dubstep weapons of the past decade. His exceptional catalog includes notable collaborations with bass music behemoths from the likes of Excision, Subtronics, SLANDER, Sullivan King, Spag Heddy, and Teddy Killerz. Kompany is set to embark on his nearly 30-stop North American ‘Quorum’ Tour with support from Cyclops, Hairitage, Ivory, Sam Lamar, and more. Not to mention, a forthcoming festival play at the newly conceived Apocalypse: Zombieland at the Queen Mary in Long Beach on November 24 and 25th.
