Following on from an already phenomenal year, which included her second Hyundai Mercury Prize shortlisting in as little as three years and four MOBO Award nominations, Laura Mvula announces the release of her new single Ready or Not, which has been chosen as the soundtrack for the legendary House of Fraser Christmas campaign.
A cover of The Delfonics track, Ready or Not, but still reflecting Lauras signature and distinctive sound, the new single was released on the 4th November and will also be included in the special edition of Lauras latest album The Dreaming Room which is available now. The special edition of the Dreaming Room contains new tracks , Mellow Man, Same Old Mistake, Silence is the Way, Magic (BBC Live Version) and You Work For Me.
Recorded over a 12 month period, Lauras latest album The Dreaming Room is an expansion of what was an already captivating sound. The heavenly vocal layering, the unexpected, complex diversions and the grandeur are still all there but now with the addition of buzzy analogue synths and electric guitar lines. If Lauras debut album, Sing to The Moon was the sound of a young artist honing her craft, then The Dreaming Room can be described as the sound of a confident and accomplished lyricist showing the progression of an artist who has truly come into her own.
