Another debut comes up on Monstercat as MEMBA release their hit single Stand Off, which features Ehiorobo on the vocals.
As the label has given many breakthroughs to youngsters, there’s immense potential for this release to be the same, for MEMBA.
With soothing vibes flowing into you right from the beginning, the track immediately makes you feel that the duo is immensely talented. The laidback tempo has an unfailing quality of making anyone groove to it and is powered by the soothing vocals from Ehiorobo. The bass works are heavy and bouncy in nature, and groovy loops keep you hooked onto it. Definitely a great entry into the scene!
Having performed a headlining set on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival, with additional performances in America and India and support from the likes of Huffington Post, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Asian Network, the New York-based duo burst onto the scene in 2016. They have ventured into not only creating amazing music but also their own instruments, visuals, and incredible live shows.
Ehiorobo is a great RnB/electronic vocalist from New Jersey. Having released his debut album, ‘Limeade’, through the internet label DESKPOP at the top of 2016, his stylings have already garnered nods from taste-curators like Vice Magazine’s THUMP, The Needle Drop, Vice’s Noisey Spain, Nest HQ, Impose Magazine, and a feature on Indie Shuffle’s ‘Best Indie/Experimental Pop of 2016’ list. The east coast based off-kilter R&B vocalist is gearing up to release his highly anticipated sophomore, Joltjacket LP in 2018.
