“We’ve been big fans of Mindchatter over the past couple of years and are excited to have him join Foreign Family. He does an incredible job of blending his impressive vocal work and meticulous production in his new music. We are looking forward to seeing what this next chapter holds for the Mindchatter project.” – ODESZA

Hailing from NYC, Mindchatter is the artist project of singer, songwriter, and producer Bryce Connolly. Having gained recognition for his genre-defying sound and unique approach to music by fusing introspective and thought-provoking lyrics with infectious, danceable beats, Mindchatter has toured with Polo & Pan, sold out headlining gigs at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere and LA’s El Rey Theater, and earned airplay from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong.

Recalling the electro pop eclecticism and immediacy of artists as varied as New Order, Postal Service, Toro Yi Moi and Owl City, ‘Growing Pains’ is filled with the heartfelt indietronic jitter & bliss that has become Mindchatter’s trademark sound.

“As the name suggests, ‘Growing Pains’ is quite literally a song about growing up” says Connolly “which isn’t always the easiest thing, since often the process of growth means recognizing all the things you won’t be able to do and learning to have respect for the time you have.”

‘Growing Pains’ is Mindchatter’s first single on Foreign Family Collective, the label imprint run by electronic luminaries ODESZA.

“I’ve been impressed with FFC for a while now, particularly their emphasis on the intersection of visual arts and music.” Connolly declares enthusiastically, “Creative freedom is most important to me when finding a label partner and since FFC is artist-run, they’ve been very accommodating to my absurd (sometimes idiotic) ideas.”
