Following up on their widely acclaimed 2020 collab “Dare Me,” Grammy award winning Australian duo NERVO joins forces again with Spanish house head Plastik Funk, adding Las Vegas singer-songwriter Elle Vee in the mix for an invigorating new take on zeroes hit “Crazy.”

Originally a fresh pop tune by Gnarls Barkley, in this guise the vocals are delivered in a vibrant new perspective by Elle Vee, embedded in melancholic piano chords and a delirious house groove. An instant club favorite, out now on Spinnin’ Records.

Credited as one of the biggest dance acts in the business, Australian duo NERVO has been making waves for over ten years already. Known for their hit sensitive songwriting skills for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha, Afrojack and David Guetta (whose “When Love Takes Over” won them a Grammy award), and widely praised live performances, they’ve conquered the world with the same speed and impact like EDM has done in the past decade.

While known for countless hit records, including 2017’s claim to fame “Best Friend” and 2021’s “Gotta Be You,” their teamup with Plastik Funk on 2020 smash “Dare Me” is also right up there when it comes to defining moments in the duo’s career.

Now, they revamp the magic with the Spanish-born, Germany based act, who’s continued to excite the crowds with his bass-driven, bouncing house style. Last year’s “Sweet Harmony” (alongside Dario Trapani and Ivan Cappello) definitely took this renowned crowdpleaser further to the stars, as well as this year’s party starter “Groove Tonight,” a collab with Mr. Belt & Wezol and Tim Morrison.

Expectations are surely lived up to as these acts deliver a highly anticipated remake of Gnarls Barkley’s 2006 pop hit “Crazy.” Employing the enticing vocals of acclaimed Las Vegas singer-songwriter Elle Vee (still buzzing on her featuring on this year’s SLANDER & Synymata hit “Never Give Up On You”), the song immediately takes off in a vibrant new vibe.

Elle Vee absolutely nails the famous chorus, bursting out in a yearning outcry, while the song emphasizes her emotions with warm, melancholic piano chords. All together, it brings back the feverish energy of oldschool house tunes, gaining strength on subtle bass lines, lively percussion and a breakdown that wonderfully builds up to a delirious drop.

It’s quite a dream team at work here, as NERVO and Plastik Funk create a vibrant house groove, while also laying down the perfect amount of sentiment to draw this famous tune into an exciting new direction. Elle Vee clearly thrives on this approach, resulting in a unique club track that definitely lives up to the original’s reputation – the floor will surely go crazy over this one again!
