Now New Machine, aka Adam Jordan has unveiled a brand-new remix of his first release ‘Chance’, featuring guest vocals from multi-MOBO award winner Shakka after the pair met writing for Rihanna. It is the second remix to be issued this year following the previously released WØLVES remix that was assisted by MC Jevon.

Laced with a chirpy bassline contrasted with a boom-bap drumbeat and commanding string section, ‘Chance’ is richly re-imagined as a post-modern pop affair. Shakka’s earnest vocal performance is effortlessly employed as his inflections seamlessly harmonise with Hamzaa’s original lines. With his unique vocal style that borrows from soul as well the Jamaican tradition of vocal toasting, Shakka’s appearance brings forth an authentic dimension to the track.

A central figurehead in London’s emerging underground scene, Shakka’s appointment on the track follows his guest-turn on Grime royalty Wiley’s ‘Certified’. Indicative of the 29-year-old’s slow but gradual ascent into mainstream waters following a series of well-received mixtapes and EP’s with 2016’s ‘The Island’ reaching the UK top 40. Amidst writing songs for the next Rihanna album, he recently released his latest single ‘Man Down’ featuring AlunaGeorge.

His debut 2016 release, ‘Dare 4 U’ feat. Aaron London was an underground retro-pop hit, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Fader, The 405 and RWD Mag and radio support from Zane Lowe, Julie Adenuga, Huw Stephens and MistaJam and more. The release of ‘Chance’ and its host of accompanying remixes looks set to expand his ever growing fanbase and tips New Machine as London’s hottest new export.
