Finger drumming prodigy and multifaceted producer OddKidOut returned to Monstercat today with a transformative VIP of his hit single, “CINEMA (feat. Marlhy).”
Reworking the original with UK breaks and drum and bass textures, the high-energy VIP will arrive as the lead track and player anthem for Rocket League’s new ‘Fame & Fortune’ season.
The rework retains sultry vocals from Marlhy, juxtaposed by bass-fueled melodies and 808s as a nod to OddKidOut’s heavier soundscapes. Following impressive tracks like “BITTERSWEET” that see him excel in new paths outside of finger-drumming, the VIP flexes OddKidOut’s genre-bending skill set, establishing him as one to watch in his next chapter.
OddKidOut shares, “Having a track synced in a video game is a dream come true for me. Growing up, playing Tony Hawk’s Underground on the original Xbox is what helped me develop my taste in music; particularly, hip-hop and punk. Video games in general have also always been a huge part of my life, so to be on the opposite end this time, where I can inspire a young kid in his bedroom, is bucket list material.”
Marlhy adds, “Video games have always been something I share with my family and friends. They bring people together, and to have a song featured in Rocket League is so freaking crazy and cool. Also, shoutout to my ex who plays this game a lot lol.”
