For his second high-energy release of the year, award-winning tech house DJ and producer Piero Pirupa teams up with Italian DJ Paolo Pellegrino for “Asereje,” slated to drop on February 24 via We Next Records.

Following the release of “Playin’ Around” (ft. Samuele Scelfo) at the top of the year, Piero Pirupa is psyched to unveil yet another collaboration with an emerging Italian tech house personality – Paolo Pellegrino. This is the first collaboration between Piero and Pellegrino, and after “Asejere” is released late February, Piero has a number of additional releases slated for 2023 on high-caliber labels.
Piero is an artist that has found the perfect fusion between house and techno, balancing his sound in a zone that never fails to hit the spot. Renowned for calling on influences from across multiple genres, both in and out of popular dance music, has become his unmistakable calling card – and “Asereje” is no different.
Speaking to Piero’s inspiration that lies outside of the electronic realm, “Asereje” is a play on the popular children’s song “The Ketchup Song (Aserejé)” released in 2018. Piero and Pellegrino’s newly renovated version of the track is projected to be a Latin tech house anthem as moods shift into the incoming spirit of spring, accompanied by a lyric video which will be released on February 24th as well.
Considering Piero’s previous success on Beatport tech house charts, international radio play and the like, the Italian-born producers are anticipating a similar outcome with “Asereje.”
Having recently played the unreleased track in New York City, Montréal, Chicago and Las Vegas – as well as Copenhagen for Warehouse Project 2.0 with Joshwa, Piero hopes the momentum for “Asereje” will only continue to grow.
Unsurprisingly, Piero is signed to some of the most famous and successful labels around –- including Spinnin, Relief, Intec Digital, Repopulate Mars, Saved, Catch & Release, Rebirth and Snatch! Records. He’s an in-demand remixer and has been called on by the likes of Claptone, Junior Jack, Sharam and even the god of acid jazz, Jamiroquai.
Piero has grown into a talent that is just as at home in front of thousands of expecting fans as he is simply in the studio tinkering with his next masterpiece. He’s a natural, one that puts in the hard graft but instinctively creates and performs, which is why he’s so often found amongst the chart-topping tracks and within the lineups of sell-out events. He is currently boasting a Spotify monthly listener total of over 1.5 million, which is an astonishing achievement in today’s highly competitive and saturated industry.
When it comes to hitting the road, Piero has covered almost every corner of it. He’s graced the decks of Hï Ibiza, Space Miami and Barcelona’s Elrow. He’s joined Fisher on his Beach Party tour, Studio 338 in London, Day Trip Los Angeles, Deep Forest Festival in Romania, LMF Festival in Zagreb, Summer Leibe Festival in Switzerland and the iconic Pacha Ibiza – naming just a handful of the standout gigs he’s been part of.
Paolo Pellegrino started his career as a DJ, performing extensively in some of the best clubs in Italy. His DJ sets are a rowdy affair, combining an explosive mix of pure adrenalin with an unrestrained and powerful sound.His unique style, due to a naturally eclectic taste that ranges from electronic music to funk, and his spirited personality make him an artist to watch out for in the current dance scene.
