After much fanfare for his recent singles, rising star of the electronic scene, Edinburgh-raised Pocket, releases his debut Helix Records EP, ‘Love Disc.’

The eclectic six-track EP features previous singles “U (ft. BRONZE AVERY),” “Crying at Supermac’s” and “Evergreen (ft. kloe)” alongside new single, “Wait For Me”

Diversity is the game’s name when it comes to Pocket’s approach to music and the EP offers a kaleidoscope of ranges and styles. Emblematic of Pocket’s fresh sound, “U (ft. BRONZE AVERY)” is the perfect combination of pop, house, and UK garage. Pocket’s light and airy instrumental melds perfectly with BRONZE AVERY’s powerful-yet-soothing vocals. Using curiously satisfying vocal chops, and minimal but intricate production, ‘Crying at Supermac’s’ shows off a sound reminiscent of classic Burial. “Evergreen (ft. kloe)” is built around a joyful and radiant house instrumental that balances perfectly with kloe’s heartfelt lyrics and stunning vocal delivery. At the same time “Wait For Me” glistens with the warm energy of the rising summer sun, encouraging us to live in the moment and appreciate the good things in life. Pocket’s unique style pierces through the saturated scene, showcasing a unique and excitable new project for fans.

‘Love Disc’ was an exercise in what melodies, sounds and textures make me feel closest to the people in my life. The initial demos came at a time in my life when there were a lot of changes happening regarding my emotional strength and application to my career. I’m a firm believer that inspiration comes from your close, romantic, or most specifically platonic relationships. You can have the craziest experiences but the creative drive to turn them into something comes from the people you’ve surrounded yourself within the process. Love Disc represents this. I’ve never been one to default to lyricism and songwriting as catharsis so i used this record as a way to find a middle ground in exploring how I can reach that catharsis through what speaks to me sonically and melodically. I’m a very sensitive person, so finding that outlet was very important to me, and classically I’ve always found this emotionally safe space through my friends and loved ones, not songwriting,’ Pocket says.

It’s been an incredible start to Pocket’s career – he was named one of the top 25 artists to watch in 2022 by Mixmag (his song ‘Heartbreak Engineering’ was also named amongst ‘Best Tracks of the Year April 2022’); received playlist support from Flume, DJ Seinfeld, and Salute, released a remix for Charli XCX and performed alongside Porter Robinson and Fred Again and has been included in tastemaker playlists POLLEN and Altar. Pocket’s recent release, ‘U (ft BRONZE AVERY), featured in Paper Magazine in addition to receiving support from a who’s who of DJs including Armin Van Buuren, The Magician, Dillon Francis, Joris Voorn, Calvin Harris, MK, Icarus, Oliver Heldens, Martin Garrix, Kryder, Sam Divine, Don Diablo, Carl Craig, Gabriel & Dresden / Dave, and PS1, among others.
