For its first release of 2020, the Bassrush Records crew wrangles a brainwave-rearranging single from the prolific producer Prolix.
The boundary-pushing artist from the UK has been steadily dishing out heaters from every imprint in the game worth the time, with a backcatalog that counts heavy-hitters such as Blackout Music, RAM Records, Shogun, Eatbrain and virtually every other imprint on the map. Last year, he popped up on the Bassrush Records label with his zooming “Lightspeed” offering, as part of the rig-rattling Bassrush Massive compilation album. He’s returning for some more action, only this time he’s kicking down his own standalone single.
“Mind Rush” is a nearly four-minute jolt to the central nervous system, activating the flight-or-fight sequence with its stomping synth progressions, maddening basslines, cinematic chords, and angelic vocalizations. It’s another exceptionally good look from one of the brightest names dominating the D&B category.
