Renowned for their ability to explore a multitude of genres and sounds ranging from dubstep, left-field bass, drum & bass, and more, RIOT bring their ever-expanding talents to the bass house realm with “In Your House.”
The Los Angeles-based duo are back at home on NGHTMRE & SLANDER’s Gud Vibration, marking their seventh release with the label in three years. The single serves as an immediate follow-up to their recent DnB heater “Meditate” on the label.
“In Your House” is an explosive bass house single that’s primed to destroy sets. Ominous orchestral strings and otherworldly chants inject a cinematic epicness that maximizes anticipation. The drops are energetic, frenetic, and ferocious. Hip-hop vocal samples offer a distinctive sense of swagger while a rave-ready vocal amplifies the intensity. Distorted low-end fuses with clanking percussive flourishes, resulting in a high-octane ride. Injecting in the iconic backspins, laser synths, redlining engines, and fierce vocal chops add to the thrillingly dizzying drift.
RIOT discusses exploring the fresh direction, saying, “‘In Your House’ is our take on the new generation of bass house. We like to keep our fans on our toes with different styles and sounds, and this is no different. We have been playing this demo in our sets for a while and are super stoked to release it finally. Tom Davidson and Daniel Magid are an Israeli-born and -raised production duo known to the world as RIOT. Living up to the connotation embedded in their alias, the powerhouse project has been inciting chaos all across the spectrum of dance music, laying waste to any genre they place their sights on.
