Shadient recruits the stunning vocal talents of fkynsyd on a deceptively upbeat indie dance single, “Dancing Alone Again,” the latest offering culled from his forthcoming debut artist album on NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations imprint.

The envelope-pushing bass artist from the UK continues to beat the hype into submission with “Dancing Alone Again,” the immediately infectious electro bop.

The track brings together the love of old French music and the ubiquitous and uncompromising production of Shadient. The airy, processed vocals from producer/vocalist fknsyd are an extremely welcomed addition to the chorus, somehow feeling both organic and otherworldly. The simple three-word title and chorus “Dancing Alone Again” quite literally embodies the feeling Morgan’s production creates: pure melancholy.

“This song is possibly my favorite song I have ever made,” says Shadient. “I originally thought it was a silly little idea I had laying around but a few of my close friends told me I had something really special, which always helps me see something in a new light. I don’t want to speak too much on fknsyd’s behalf because she wrote the lyrics but this song was written to embrace isolation and loneliness—something I think everyone can agree they’ve felt a lot the last year or so. fknsyd really elevated the song with her voice and lyrics to really hammer that message home.”

“It’s a huge source of joy for me to make music with friends and I’m grateful to have been able to contribute something to ‘Dancing Alone Again,’ adds fknsyd. “Morgan’s a big inspiration to me and the love and care he poured into this album is really moving. It’s some of my favorite music that exists and I’m excited for it be out in the world.”

Only a few weeks prior, Shadient broke the news of his imminent body of work by sharing its lead single “Ego Insaniac,” a dark, smoldering electronica track penned about one’s sanity slipping through the cracks.

Without skipping a beat, he returns to the fold with a solid follow-up effort pulled from the LP, teaming up with Colorado-based singer/producer fknsyd. She previously clinched a feature on their “Miles on Mind” collab, an emotive bass house number that rumbled on Shadient’s ‘Infinite Structures’ EP in 2020.

As a fellow Gud Vibrations regular, fknsyd is also fresh off her own standalone appearance for the label via her first solo-produced EP, ‘Moontower.’ They are clearly in good company with one another, and that electrifying rapport ironically lends itself to a striking ode to isolation taking the shape of “Dancing Alone Again.”
