Catz ‘n Dogz drop their official remix of Shakira’s massive new record-breaking hit ‘Out Of Your League’, debuted on Bizarrap’s BZRP Music Sessions 53.
The original track dissing her ex, former Man U/Barcelona player Gerard Piqué, has over 300 million views on YouTube already, growing every day. Could this raunchy, catchy remix be one of 2023’s biggest electronic releases?.
You’ll have seen the viral story… Shakira joined Bizarrap’s BZRP Music Sessions series in January and the two dropped an unexpected break-up song in Spanish about Piqué’s cheating ways. Over 63 million hits in just 24 hours made the video the most-watched Latin song to date, now it’s well into the hundreds of millions.
Catz’n Dogz have really delivered on this remix, respectfully keeping Shakira’s voice and words up front throughout in a manifesto for strong women worldwide. But they’ve upped the speed, with a resolute, determined beat, and added a powerful, almost sinister bass, as the ‘she-wolf’ growls her anger. Result, a dancefloor hot-shot.
Bizarrap invited the duo to remix the cut. ‘We’ve worked with Bizarrap before, remixing Chucky73’s Bzrp session 43. When he and his team called us to do this remix, we had to say yes! Straight away we decided to make the music much darker and repeat certain lyrics to focus on it being a powerful woman’s anthem more than a breakup song, building the track around ‘Las mujeres ya no lloran las mujeres facturan’ (‘women don’t cry, women work and pay taxes).’
