SLANDER is banding together with Au5, shYbeast and PLYA on an epic melodic bass collab called “Anywhere,” slated for release on Heaven Sent.

During the final leg of 2020, the dance music powerhouse known as SLANDER lifted the curtain on a new imprint they have rightfully dubbed as Heaven Sent, which would serve as a veritable shrine for “emotional music sent from above.” It’s an area of the dance music spectrum the Los Angeles-based duo has been deeply committed to since the project’s inception, and the label is a natural extension into a sound they helped put on the map. As they continue to build the foundation of this recently minted catalogue, SLANDER lives up to the Heaven Sent mantra with the release of its third single.

On “Anywhere,” they create a holy union of talent via a massive four-way collaborative release that ropes in melodic genius Au5, the rock-meets-electronic sensation shYbeast, and the UK’s dreamy three-piece band PLYA. At the risk of sounding too cliche, it’s a match made in heaven. The creativity from these brilliant minds stacked up together is enough to be deemed supernatural, and yet they somehow manage to find the perfect sweet spot sitting between their respective artistic expressions. Clocking in at an eye-tearing nearly five-minute run, the massive anthem soars into an emotive amalgamation of mellifluous synth swells, robust drum programming, sparkling arpeggiations, celestial pad lines and resounding vocals that land with a vulnerable confidence. In the closing section, the message is hammered home through a glitchy melodic dubstep climax that will fill the hearts of festivalgoers the world over.

Fans have been frantically awaiting the release of “Anywhere,” since the very moment SLANDER uploaded a clip of them road-testing the song in Taiwan during one of rare festival sets taking place in November of last year. As expected, their social channels lit up in pure joy as onlookers yearned to experience this moment in the flesh. While the ID was tucked away been in their back pocket in the months that followed, the Heaven Sent label-bosses didn’t exactly leave everyone high and dry. In the leadup to “Anywhere,” they signed Au5’s “The Way To Infinity” at the top of 2021, a bass-heavy solo issue paving the way for this new masterpiece. It was preceded only by the imprint’s inaugural offering, “Hurts Sometimes,” which brought SLANDER together with Fairlane and esteemed singer/songwriter Jonathan Mendelsohn. Even though Heaven Sent may only be three releases deep at this juncture, the possibilities seem endless for a stable that is going to be omnipresent once the dancefloor is back in action.
