Norwegian artist Sonny Alven has recently released his 3-track Girls EP. After garnering a lot of acclaim for it, he has now gone on to unveil the accompanying concept video for it, and it’s all kinds of cool. Directed by Mohammed Sarmadawy – who also directed the music video for Alven’s hit ‘Our Youth’ -, the concept video comprises of three clips which explore different relationship themes – with all the lead characters being female.

The first video clip centres around two girlfriends in love as they enjoy the Nordic landscape, with ‘Your Touch’ serving as the soundtrack to the touching visual. ‘Wasted Youth’ focuses on three best friends stranded in the snow attempting to get home, eventually making the most of the unfortunate situation. ‘Too Late to Love Me’ brings the concept video to a close and depicts a girl falling in love again after a turbulent relationship. The uplifting clip is a small teaser of the forthcoming music video, which will also feature studio performances from Sonny Alven and Ylva.
Alven’s Girls EP showcases vocal talent from rising female Scandinavian singers Olivera, Cal and Ylva, as well as highlighting the Norwegian artist’s distinctive style – a huge part of which focuses on his love for collaborating with women. Polished and well-rounded, Girls EP contextualises what Alven has been building towards over the last few months.
Having gained a coveted Norwegian Grammy nomination for his single ‘Our Youth’ feat. Emmi last year, Alven has had an impressive 2016. His musical creations have received major success in and out of the studio, allowing Alven to remix tracks for high-profile artists such as Alesso, Tove Lo and Astrid S to critical acclaim. On the road, dance titan Kygo enlisted Alven to support him on the European leg of his world tour, which saw the ‘Our Youth’ hitmaker perform sold-out shows at London’s Brixton Academy.
