Space Yacht is back with their second heavy bass compilation of the year, titled ‘Big Bass Ting Vol. 2’.
Big Bass Ting Vol. 1 celebrated Space Yacht’s years of throwing bass-centric showcases, and the compilation’s second edition continues to spotlight the genre’s most hotly-tipped talent.
Across the 11 tracks on ‘Big Bass Ting Vol. 2’, listeners will encounter a slew of fresh-sounding, genre-hopping tracks. From dubstep, to riddim, to heavy trap, the artists featured on the compilation bring a variety of styles to the table that are ultimately threaded by in-your-face instrumentals.
El Paso-based producer NAZAAR curated the compilation, in addition to contributing his show-stopping tracks “MANIPULATE” and “Desert Chaos,” co-produced by LAYZ. These opening cuts continue the 21-year-old’s typical aesthetic and cultural osmosis, as it expertly shifts between aggressive dubstep inspired by the sounds of the artist’s Pakistani roots. The compilation also features the Alison Wonderland-endorsed artist Blvk Sheep, whose track “Recoil,”featuring VAMPREE, separates itself from the rest of the project with its incorporation of hip-hop.
Another track comes from Canadian producer Lizdek, who contributes with the song “Spearbound.” The 20-year-old artist has experience in all sorts of electronic genres, cultivating a catalogue that dabbles in everything from drum & bass to ambient. He shows why his talent and eclecticism has garnered praise from all corners of the dance floor, providing a track that combines amen breaks with industrial, growling bass and pounding 808s.
The compilation rounds out with tracks from Algo, LOUIEJAYXX & RZRKT, Cyclops, Felmax & Veros, Echo Drone & Dr. Lobster, SOUNDWAVE, and Uvalid.
‘Big Bass Ting Vol. 2’ continues the successful recipe of the first edition by amassing a brimming collection of bass tracks from some of the genre’s most exciting artists. The 11-track release mirrors the raucous energy experienced at Space Yacht parties while further cementing the collective’s curatorial influence.
