The Spice Girls are getting closer to announcing a reunion tour to celebrate 30 years since their iconic debut single, Wannabe.
Fans have been buzzing with excitement, especially since Geri Halliwell-Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel C, and Mel B are all reportedly on board for the global tour. While Geri is meeting with the group’s former manager, Simon Fuller, in Miami, the plans are still taking shape. Geri, though, has been busy, which delayed things. But now, with Simon’s involvement potentially taking the tour to another level, fans are more hopeful than ever.
However, there’s a catch. Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, is “90% out” of the reunion. Sources claim she’s almost ruled herself out, despite the fact that she would love to honor the band’s legacy in some form, like a special appearance or even a virtual “avatar” cameo. Fans won’t be seeing her in person for the big tour, though it’s not entirely impossible for her to make a one-off appearance.
Mel C gave fans a glimmer of hope during a recent interview, revealing that there are indeed talks about a world tour to mark Wannabe’s 30th anniversary. “We have to do something special,” she said in March, hinting that the group is definitely discussing it. Spice Girls fans were also treated to a fun reunion moment earlier this year when Geri, Mel C, Mel B, and Emma surprised everyone by performing “Stop” at Victoria’s 50th birthday bash. No sign of Posh, but the girls definitely still have that Spice magic.
This wouldn’t be the first time the Spice Girls have toured without Posh. In 2019, they rocked sold-out stadium shows across the UK and Ireland without Victoria, though she did reunite with the group for the 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony. If the 2025 tour goes ahead without her, it will be another chapter in the Spice Girls’ long history of reunions, with or without Posh.
