It’s been almost two years since the duo released their The Violent Five EP on Blackout, which followed the influential Until The World Ends EP with fellow heavyweights Black Sun Empire. Now, it seems that the wait is almost over, as something formidable stirs within the murky depths of the neurofunk world. Prepare to be blown away as State of Mind re-enter the fray with a new album for 2018 – with lead single Writhe leading the way.
The album is set to be revealed over the course of the year in the form of two EP’s – Land Of The Blind, Parts 1 & 2 – and the final LP itself, which stacks a plethora of new tunes. Writhe has been plucked from Part 1 to quench the thirst of State Of Mind’s many patient fans.
Available from 23rd February, Writhe flaunts that haunting musicality that has made the duo’s music so infectious over the years. Underpinned by a growling bassline and packing a thunderous barrage of drums, the track is a salacious taste of what State Of Mind have in store.
State Of Mind have been throwing curveballs at the drum and bass scene for over a decade now, with each release setting a new bar for fellow producers to aim for. Blending experimental musicality with sheer technical wizardry, the duo prepare to cloak the scene in their shroud of darkness once again.
