Brooklyn-based Producer, DJ, & Remixer Tony y Not makes her Live At Robert Johnson debut with ‘Your Exile In My Mind’ EP, released on 14th April.

Razor sharp, clean, upbeat, and dark are words that feature in Mimi von Koerber aka Tony y Not’s biography. And they’re also the perfect way to describe her Live At Robert Johnson EP. One could add hypnotic, robotic, cool or even cold here as well as these adjectives also work quite well to give you an idea of the three tracks starting with the title track ‘Your Exile In My Mind’, a very up to date take on the Euro-Disco sounds made popular by Giorgio Moroder at the end of the 70s. Think an instrumental of Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’!

‘The War Is Over But The Fight Goes On’ enters even darker territories. This is music for our time, music which takes you to places you might not want to go in the first place but sometimes there is no other way to go. Imagine a barely lit dancefloor at 5am in the morning and being hit by the first few beats of this track and you’ll quickly realise that all you can do is to go along with the music, dive deep into it, swallow it and embrace it – and keep fightin’!

The cosmic and dreamy ‘Full Circle’ perfectly closes the EP. The track leaves you with a lot more positive thoughts after a long and dark club night but still works mighty fine to forget all your troubles over its six minutes and twelve seconds – and y not?! You might feel safe by now but let’s not forget: The fight goes on…

The EP is backed by remixes from Peter Invasion & Grebor Habicht, Zombies in Miami, and Jorkes coming in July.

Tony y Not is set for a big 2023, following her acclaimed ’Send Me Up’ EP on Man Power’s Me Me Me label last year, Riotvan compilation inclusions, and worldwide tour dates alongside such names as DJ Seinfeld, Dixon, and Jimi Jules. Tony y Not is supported by Eclair Fifi, TERR, John Tejada, Ame, Man Power, Reznik, Curses, Sarah Wild, and Moscoman.

Tony y Not is also passionate about promoting good mental health in the music industry. She launched a Safe Spaces podcast which is about shining a light on mental health within the nightlife music industry and sharing individual experiences might help others realise that they are not alone with their mental health issues. Guests have included Joanna Barber, Jorkes, Sarah Wild and future ones with Floyd Lavine and Chloe Duperry.
