Superlative EDM duo Tritonal release their incredible second album Painting With Dreams today, offering up the full range of their highly accomplished styles over the course of fourteen captivating tracks.
The duo from Austin, Texas have gradually expanded their horizons, taking the scintillating essence of their big room melodics and turbocharged riffs and filtering it through different genres, tempos, rhythms and influences to stunning effect. They have amassed almost 100 million plays on Spotify alone in the last 12 months, with five Billboard Dance Chart Top 10 singles to boot and huge collaborations with The Chainsmokers and Cash Cash along the way. Releasing the new record on their own Enhanced Music imprint, they have created their most ambitious and sophisticated work to date.
Sensational singles This Is Love, Getaway, Blackout and Broken (featuring Grammy-nominated star Adam Lambert) feature, sounding even more glorious as part of the wider package—but the album is packed with plenty of other standout moments, with virtually every track worthy of a single release. There’s tropical tinged summer vibes on I Feel The Love, blending organic sounds with a subtle electronic sheen, slick acoustic guitar driven pop on Livin’ The Dream, tinges of Daft Punk-esque style electro worked in between the euphoric house sections of Rewind, pensive chillout on intro track Tela Vuota, fist-pumping piano house on Waiting 4 U, epic dubstep style beats on Only Mortal with Nick Sibicky and so much more besides.
Aside from the pristine production quality, the songwriting and vocal performances are incredibly strong throughout. Fred Page excels with a soulful, yearning delivery on the big room buzz of Set It On Fire, Jaden Michaels brings impassioned drama to Running Into Me and Shy Martin provides one of the standout moments on the blissful, beatless piano epicness of the title track. With such a stellar cast of contributors, Tritonal have found the perfect match for their emotive music.
The duo set out on a huge tour of North America this weekend in support of the album, taking in 23 dates over the next seven weeks. Las Vegas’ Marquee Club is where their epic journey begins on Saturday 10 September.
