Oslo based duo TRXD release their brand new single ‘Sleep’ via Sony Music Norway.

The track follows the pair’s recent collaboration ‘Vice’ with Norwegian singer-songwriter Caroline Ailin, who famously co-wrote Dua Lipa’s ‘New Rules’.

A dreamy and nostalgic ode to insomnia, “Sleep isn’t actually a song about sleeping,” TRXD explains, “it’s about how you can miss someone so much that it keeps you up all night.”

TRXD are no strangers to life in the fast lane. The Oslo based duo, who have only been making music together since 2016, have already achieved well over 30 million combined streaming figures for their music, signed to a major label within months of forming, and opened for Chainsmokers.

“We’re aware how privileged we are to be able to work with exceptionally talented people. The expanding international creative network we’ve built excites and challenges us, and helps us develop on every level. However, travelling back and forth takes its toll, and we live in a jetlagged haze” says David, who is teased for more than occasionally falling asleep on the studio couch.

However, there’s some cosmic logic in suffering from jet lag when releasing a song called ‘Sleep’. A song that was a dream to write. The pair were sent vocals that they fell head over heels for, and tag teamed – swapping who sat in the producer’s chair – until they finished the song in what seemed like no time at all. “We love that the music we feel strongly about is received so well. We’re excited about the year to come, with plenty of new music and live performances” say TRXD “But first, we need to stay awake for the release of Sleep.”

Truls Dyrstad (TR) and David Atarodiyan (D) met by chance while David was studying at music school in the Norwegian town of Kristiansand. A week later, they were in the studio together making remixes. Three weeks later, one of those mixes, a unique take on Adele’s ‘Hello’, caught the attention of Billboard magazine in the US. Just two months later, the duo were signed by a major label and very soon after that had scored a double platinum debut single ‘Wherever You Go’, which has been streamed over 10 million times and counting.

Taking things to the next level is a priority for TRXD in 2019, previously having DJ’d during their live shows, they’re now working on a box-fresh new live set up to take on tour, “It will be different from anything we’ve done before. It’s a challenge for us and a big step, but it’s worth it…and it’s fun!”

With more new music in the works, further live shows and festival appearances planned, and a leading role in Norway’s thriving electronic music scene, TRXD are ready to explode in 2019.
