Since their reunion at Ultra Music Festival Miami in 2018, all the world of dance music has wanted the most, is new music by Swedish House Mafia.
The trio reunited after 5 years apart for the 20th Anniversary edition of Ultra Miami. At that point, things remained ambiguous regarding the future of the supergroup. But it slowly and steadily became a cemented fact that they were back for good when they announced a slew of tour dates through 2019.
The first of the shows were in their hometown in Stockholm and piled with ids and new music. While the rumors of new music from the Swedes have been galore since the trio made their comeback and also got signed onto Columbia Records, but it wasn’t till early May that we got a taste of it.
One particular ID which has caught the interest of fans from the beginning is a track the trio have been opening their shows with called “It Gets Better.” While this was only the rumored title till a while ago, the trio added fuel to the fire using the title as a caption for teaser video and now the rumors have only been further strengthened by the forthcoming release showing up under the title on music identification app, Shazam.
While the listing on the app’s database could correlate to a possible release in the near future on digital platforms, it still remains to be a waiting game. With all the potential to become a new Swedish House Mafia anthem, the track captures their signature sounds with an added dose of a dark and gritty bassline.
The trio also premiered an unreleased collaboration with A$AP Rocky during their performance at Ultra Europe last month.
While the trio have come under fire for cancelling a fair amount of shows on their previously announced tour, they have been going out all guns blazing through their tour. Stacked with the best of production and packed with new music, its only a matter of time till the trio officially unleash all their new music upon us.
