Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Valentino Khan releases another single ahead of his upcoming EP, POWERLINE, due out March 1. A blazing techno instrumental, Khan’s new single “Television” is out today, February 16.
“Television” with electroclash-tinged vocals and dark, driving kick drums makes it clear Khan’s adventurous ear as a music maker is ahead of the curve: “The techno of today is somewhat vague yet liberating. It’s confusing yet exciting and in a way I love that. You have this very aggressive rave sound, some of it even sounds like psytrance and then you also have part of it that feels like it lives in a house-adjacent space. All completely different, but they ultimately can coexist in the same world. I wanted to touch on a wide range of that spectrum with this EP and I think having that mentality as a producer leads to really cool results.”
On that note, the POWERLINE EP is Khan’s love letter to his ride-or-die audience who have proven to stick with him through his evolution and the waves of exploration in his sound. Although he made his name with the world of house music, Khan decided to dive into the world of techno, a sub-genre with groundbreaking momentum in the dance community.
When Khan isn’t in the studio, he’s relentlessly traveling around the entire globe to perform at some of the world’s best festivals and venues. The high-energy DJ is on the road for a string of upcoming shows across the country. Look for Valentino Khan to bring his electrifying stage presence to Orlando, Seattle, Minneapolis and San Francisco, with festival appearances set for Illfest, Beyond Wonderland as a B2B with Dillon Francis, and B2B with Deorro at PHXLights and Project Glow.
