Vorso’s debut album ‘Holonomy’ is out now, a massive collection of twenty new tracks and one which firmly solidifies his place within the world of electronic music.

Arriving via Inspected, a label known for its musical output, YouTube channel, and merchandise, they provide a platform for Vorso who since 2017 has been steadily building to this moment. And with previous support from the likes of Aphex Twin, Noisia, Koan Sound, and with releases on UKF and Pilot Records, ‘Holonomy’ is already set on top of solid foundations.

To celebrate its release, Vorso has broken down the ten tracks which have helped inspire the album, which you can check out below, including names like Noisia, Mefjus and G Jones. You can also grab a copy of the new LP here (out today on Inspected).

Disclosure – Never Enough

This track has such a masterful control of energy, I love the fills and how it flows between the sections. Disclosure was a huge influence for me to try out some more house-inspired tracks for my album.

Mefjus – Saturate

This one is an old favourite of mine. I think Mefjus had such a great sound for this album and the groove on this one really stands out for me. Straight up and down!!!

Joe Ford – Distilled

I’ve always really admired Joe Ford’s sound design and rhythms. This one has been a fave for me ever since it came out (also on Inspected – hello!). Sounds like something out of a futuristic action film arctic tundra chase scene to me.

Igorrr – Nervous Waltz

This one packs so much melodrama into 3 minutes. Just. Ridiculous!!!

Noisia – Scrapped

I think anyone who listens to my music should be able to pick out the Noisia influence straight away. I love their catalog all the way back from their earlier releases, but the sound they’ve arrived at for their last album “Closer” works so well for me. Their album was a huge inspiration for me to finish my own and leave it as a large body of work rather than cutting it down.

Louis Cole – Real Life (ft. Brad Mehldau)

Louis Cole’s music was a fairly recent discovery for me. I remember being blown away by how hard this one hits. Was really fun to try and incorporate some of this kind of funk-infused style into my own work in Holonomy – the influence is definitely there even though we make very different kinds of music.

G Jones – Remnant

I wanted to include a G Jones track as his record “The Ineffable Truth” was a big influence on me – however, as I’m sharing a release week with his new album “Paths” it felt right to include a track off it. I think this one encapsulates everything I like about his sound really well.

Zekk – MEJIRUSHI

This track is SO intense, every time I listen to it I’m surprised it’s about 10bpm faster than I remember it. Zekk always has such cool melodies – was inspired to try out that kind of sound in the form of a synth solo in Chef’s Suggestion.

Ivy Lab – Amber

Ivy Lab and KOAN Sound share the top spot as my biggest inspirations for halftime / beats stuff so it was very hard to pick a single tune. This one is just so dark sounding, I love the quarter-time bit at the end.

Salvatore Ganacci – Horse

There is something so powerfully funny about this track to me.
