The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) recently concluded with an unprecedented attendance of 500,000 participants at its Festival and Conferences, spanning five vibrant days and nights. Looking ahead, ADE is scheduled for October 16—20, 2024.

Marking its 28th chapter, the Amsterdam Dance Event wrapped up successfully, featuring over 2,900 artists across more than 1,000 events and initiatives. These activities unfolded in upwards of 200 venues throughout Amsterdam, drawing an all-time high of 500,000 international attendees and resulting in the sale of 650,000 tickets.

Having evolved into a pivotal hub for the propagation of electronic music culture and emerging talents, this year’s ADE flaunted a broad spectrum of electronic music niches, live performances, and cultural intersections within its Festival and Arts & Culture agendas.

The focus was on diversity and inclusivity, reflected in both the lineup of artists and the audience. Highlights included the inaugural event at Rijksmuseum, featuring upsammy, Metropole Orkest & Tinlicker, a unique back-to-back session with KI/KI and Armin van Buuren, and community-driven happenings by Music Moves. Established attractions like Speedy J’s STOOR, Audio Obscura, and Martin Garrix’s 18+ and All Ages events made their anticipated comeback, complemented by fresh partnerships like Andalusisch Orkest x Mary Lake and Het HEM x Horst.

ADE Pro Conference

Beyond the spectrum of fully-booked festival activities, the ADE Pro Conference expanded its itinerary to encompass four days, a first in its history. The conference, hosted at Felix Meritis, became a melting pot for global artists and pivotal enterprises, converging to navigate the tactics, prospects, and ethical considerations shaping today’s music realm.

Forefront leaders and tech connoisseurs from entities like Google, TuneCore, SEG, and others delved into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence, while platforms such as Spotify, TikTok, YouTube, and Beatport imparted crucial industry insights. ADE Startups inaugurated a year-round nurturing environment for trailblazing startups, while global event curators engaged in profound discourse regarding the trajectory of festivals. The symposium also welcomed renowned artists such as Grandmaster Flash, The Blessed Madonna, Röyksopp, and Max Cooper, with the last two offering exclusive live sets for all attendees.

The second rendition of ADE Lab, a summit dedicated to the cultivation of emerging artists and industry professionals, received an overwhelming response. This platform provided over 2,000 nascent artists, producers, and ambitious industry hopefuls with the opportunity to glean insights from top-tier artists like Reinier Zonneveld, Mama Snake, Saoirse, Héctor Oaks, and A-Trak, forge collaborative bonds, gain valuable feedback, and partake in demo drops.
