Starbucks Brings Back Eggnog Latte and Red Cup Day for 2025 Holiday Season

Starbucks is officially marking the 2025 holiday season with the return of its classic festive drinks and the highly anticipated Red Cup Day.

Starting November 6, fans can now enjoy favorites such as the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, and Iced Gingerbread Chai, while new additions and retro returns complete the coffee house chain’s holiday offerings.

The coffee giant confirmed to USA TODAY that two more fan favorites – the Chestnut Praline Latte and the anticipated Eggnog Latte – will also return to menus nationwide later in the holiday season. The return of the Eggnog Latte is particularly notable since it was dropped in 2021, which led to customer calls for years to bring back the drink.

Naturally, no Starbucks holiday season would be complete without Red Cup Day, the company’s unofficial holiday celebration that gives customers a free reusable red cup when they buy any handcrafted holiday drink. Starbucks announced the collectible cups will return later in the season, providing an added touch of happiness for devoted fans who eagerly anticipate the occasion annually.

The complete 2025 Starbucks holiday offerings are:

  • Peppermint Mocha: Starbucks Signature Espresso with steamed milk, mocha sauce, and peppermint syrup topped with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls. Served hot, iced, or as a Frappuccino.
  • Caramel Brulée Latte: Espresso, steamed milk, and decadent caramel brulée sauce topped with whipped cream and caramelized toppings.
  • Iced Sugar Cookie Latte: Sugar cookie syrup, Blonde Espresso, milk, and ice, topped with holiday red and green sprinkles.
  • Iced Gingerbread Chai: Combination of chai spices, oat milk, and ice, topped with gingerbread-flavored cold foam and spice topping.
  • Chestnut Praline Latte: Espresso, steamed milk, caramelized chestnut flavors, and whipped cream with praline crumbs.
  • Eggnog Latte: Steamed eggnog and milk mixed with espresso and topped with a sprinkle of nutmeg – back for the first time in four years.

Aside from beverages, Starbucks is passing along the holiday cheer in the form of a limited-time partnership with Hello Kitty, launching the same day that the holiday menu arrives.

Kap Pitarys, Starbucks’ director of U.S. merchandise, said the collaboration “felt natural” since both brands share a nostalgic, joyful aesthetic. “Starbucks and Hello Kitty have strong fandoms and deep roots in culture,” Pitarys said. “We’re excited to bring back that nostalgic vibe with this special collaboration.”

The collection will feature charming collectibles, including:

  • A Hello Kitty plush in a Starbucks apron ($34.95)
  • A 16-ounce ceramic mug ($32.95)
  • A 26-ounce stainless steel cold cup ($32.95)
  • A 20-ounce water bottle ($29.95)
  • A 24-ounce cold cup ($24.95)
  • A 12-ounce stainless steel tumbler ($32.95)

Available in select U.S. and Canadian Starbucks stores from November 6, the Hello Kitty collection is expected to sell out quickly.

The bakery case will also have a holiday face-lift, with the return of old favorites such as the Snowman Cookie, Cranberry Bliss Bar, and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish, as well as new seasonal offerings including the Polar Bear Cake Pop and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread.

For those who just can’t get their holiday fix of coffee until November, Starbucks holiday coffees, creamers, and ready-to-drink drinks – such as Peppermint Mocha and Sugar Cookie Latte – are now available at big-box retailers like Target and Walmart.

Whether it’s warm drinks and cheerful food or retro merch, Starbucks is once again showing everyone that nobody holiday-hacks like they do.
