McDonald’s Monopoly is officially back – and fans are already buzzing with excitement.
After a decade-long break, the popular game has returned to restaurants nationwide starting Monday, October 6, bringing both nostalgia and a fresh digital twist.
The fast-food giant announced that this year’s comeback edition will allow players to “rediscover the thrill of the peel” through both physical and digital game pieces inspired by the classic 1935 board game. Unlike the 2015 version, McDonald’s is introducing new ways to play and win through its mobile app – giving customers even more chances at scoring massive prizes.
The company revealed that prizes this year range from dream vacations and shopping sprees to a jaw-dropping $1 million cash prize. “Don’t just dream of MONOPOLY Money – come play for the real thing,” McDonald’s teased. “The next big winner could be you!”
So how can you play McDonald’s Monopoly this time around? It’s simple.
To start, download the McDonald’s app and head to the “Rewards” section to register for the game. Customers who sign up before October 6 will also receive a bonus of 500 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points. Once registered, you can begin collecting game pieces with eligible menu purchases.
When you order select breakfast, lunch, or dinner items, like the Quarter Pounder with Cheese or large fries, you’ll receive either a physical or digital “game piece.” For digital pieces, you can “peel” your prize directly within the McDonald’s app. For traditional paper pieces, peel them off your food packaging and scan the QR code using the app to see what you’ve won.
And if you don’t want to make a purchase, McDonald’s has included a no-purchase option too. Simply visit amoe.playatmcd.com to request a game piece by mail.
Registered players will also get an extra “Bonus Play” for every game piece they collect through Sunday, November 2, giving them even more chances to win.
As for prizes, McDonald’s is offering what it calls a “pool of amazing prizes,” including:
- 1 million American Airlines AAdvantage miles
- A $50,000 vacation to a MONOPOLY GO! destination
- A $10,000 shopping spree from Lowe’s
- A 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
- $1 million in cash
