Trader Joe’s has issued a nationwide recall for certain bottles of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water after discovering they may shatter unexpectedly, posing a serious laceration hazard to consumers.
What’s Being Recalled?
The affected bottles have the following lot codes:
- 11/28/2024 L
- 11/27/2024 L
These $3 glass bottles, imported from Germany, were pulled from shelves after research uncovered potential cracks and structural weaknesses in about 1% of the affected batches.
What Should You Do?
Trader Joe’s has urged customers to immediately stop using the recalled bottles and dispose of them carefully. Those who purchased the product can return the empty or full bottles to any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund, no proof of purchase required.
How Serious Is This?
So far, no injuries have been reported, but with over 61,500 units affected, the recall is a precautionary measure. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is monitoring the situation and advises against any use of the recalled products.
Another Recall? What’s Going On at Trader Joe’s?
This is the second recall in two months for the grocery chain. In February 2025, Trader Joe’s recalled its frozen Organic Acai Bowls after concerns they might contain plastic pieces.
While food and beverage recalls are common, back-to-back recalls raise concerns about product quality and supplier oversight. Customers with questions can contact Trader Joe’s Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817 for more information.
If you have Gerolsteiner Sparkling Water from lot codes 11/28/2024 L or 11/27/2024 L, get rid of it and head to Trader Joe’s for a refund. Safety first!
