MindsEye Launch Disaster Shocks Players

MindsEye, the much-anticipated sci-fi/action game from Build A Rocket Boy, officially launched on June 10 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Unfortunately, not all players got the smooth experience they were hoping for. The game has been hit with early technical issues, mainly performance drops, character model distortions, and frequent stuttering.

In response, Build A Rocket Boy issued a heartfelt message on the official MindsEye Discord, admitting they’re “heartbroken” over the launch problems. The developers said they’re aware that not every player was able to experience the game as intended and are now shifting their full attention to fixing the bugs.

According to the studio, the biggest culprit behind the issues appears to be a memory leak, which they say is responsible for the majority of game crashes. “This impacted roughly 1 in 10 of our players,” they revealed. That figure may seem small in percentage, but it’s significant when you consider the game’s broad platform release.

The devs added that their team has been working overnight to fix the bugs and optimize performance. A hotfix is already in the works and could roll out for PC players as early as tomorrow. Console players may need to wait slightly longer due to platform certification processes with Xbox and PlayStation.

In the same statement, the team reassured fans that they’re “fully committed to ensuring all our players have a great experience,” and promised ongoing updates as they resolve performance problems. They also thanked players for their support, noting that the community’s patience and feedback have been crucial during these early days.

“We’re grateful and blessed to have you on the journey with us,” they added.

It’s clear that Build A Rocket Boy is taking the situation seriously and moving quickly to make things right. While launch day issues are unfortunately common in the gaming world, the transparency and responsiveness from the MindsEye team offer a bit of reassurance.

For players currently affected by MindsEye game glitches, it’s worth keeping an eye on the official Discord and social media channels for patch notes and progress updates. In the meantime, if you’re among the unlucky 10% dealing with crashes or performance problems, help is on the way, just a little longer to wait.

With strong visuals and ambitious storytelling, MindsEye has the potential to be a major hit once these early hurdles are cleared. Here’s hoping the upcoming hotfix delivers the stability players deserve.
