Steve Aoki has revealed that he will soon start producing house music under an alias.
The DJ said one of the main reasons he began this journey was when he was in Ibiza this summer. He said, “That kind of environment, the banging stuff just doesn’t work, so I was playing house: Maceo Plex, Ten Walls, Tiga’s collaborations, Duke Dumont and some more underground stuff.”
This led to Aoki producing his own tracks. However Aoki has revealed he will not be releasing them under the name Steve Aoki. He said, “I don’t want to confuse people who associate me with my usual sound, and I want it to be judged on its own merits. We’ll see how it does.”
We’ll just have to wait and see when these mysterious productions are released and if they are released on Aoki’s Dim Mak Records or another label.
