“Any Plans on Seeing Your Child?”: Alyssa Scott Slams Nick Cannon for Ghosting Daughter

Nick Cannon is getting dragged by Alyssa Scott, the mother of his two-year-old daughter Halo, for not showing up in her life for more than a month.

Alyssa didn’t hold back, she publicly called him out on Instagram after he appeared on the Tea Time podcast joking about having a $10 million insurance policy on his testicles. Yes, seriously. According to Nick, it’s $5 million per testicle, and if something happens to them, the money would go to his kids. Alyssa’s response? Not amused.

She reposted the podcast clip on her Instagram Story and wrote, “Ha ha haaa. Funny. Any plans on seeing your child? It’s been over a month, @nickcannon. But good to know she’ll get some of your $ if anything happens to your balls. Smh.” This wasn’t a vague message, Alyssa called him out directly, making it clear she’s fed up with his absence in Halo’s life.

Nick’s got a massive brood, he’s a dad to twelve kids with six different women. That includes 14-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; Golden, eight; Powerful, four; and Rise, two, with Brittany Bell; twins Zillion and Zion, three, and Beautiful, two, with Abby De La Rosa; Legendary, two, with Bre Tiesi; Onyx, two, with LaNisha Cole; and Halo with Alyssa. He also had a son, Zen, with Alyssa, who heartbreakingly passed away at just five months old in 2021 due to brain cancer.

Despite all the jokes and viral podcast clips, Alyssa’s post pointed out a harsh reality: being financially “prepared” for your kids doesn’t mean much when you’re not present. Her frustration echoes what a lot of people have said about Nick’s parenting, can you really be there for that many kids, spread across so many homes?

Nick previously told People in 2023 that his parenting style is more about giving each child their own individual attention. “I actually love stepping into their world. Going to their sports games or giving them their personal time for the holidays,” he said. “So I have no problem with bouncing around.” He admitted that it wouldn’t really benefit the kids to all be in one space together and that the only one who would enjoy that setup is probably him.

That sounds ideal in theory, but Alyssa’s post shows a different picture. While Nick Cannon might think bouncing around works, not showing up for over a month clearly isn’t cutting it and Alyssa Scott’s not the first of his baby mamas to shade him online, and if this pattern keeps up, she probably won’t be the last.
