Chase Chrisley had way more than cake and candles to celebrate on his 29th birthday this year.
The Chrisley Knows Best star turned 29 on Sunday, June 1-but what really made the day special was having his parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, finally back home after more than a year behind bars. Just four days earlier, on May 28, the couple was released from prison following a full pardon from President Donald Trump, and Chase didn’t hold back on how much it meant to him.
He took to Instagram Stories to reshare a Fox News post that announced Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, had officially returned to their Nashville home. Alongside the story, he wrote, “Best birthday gift I could ask for.” For someone who’s watched his family go through legal chaos, federal trials, and media storms, it was a birthday he won’t forget anytime soon.
Todd and Julie had been serving time after their 2022 conviction for tax evasion and bank fraud. Todd was held at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, and Julie was incarcerated at the Federal Medical Center in Kentucky. They had both reported to prison in January 2023, but after many public pleas, legal battles, and a final push for a pardon, their freedom became reality at the end of May 2025.
Their release was a huge moment for the entire Chrisley family, who rose to fame on the USA Network reality series Chrisley Knows Best, which aired from 2014 to 2023 across 10 seasons. The family’s strong bond was on display throughout the ordeal, and it showed again as their kids reunited with them after their release. Daughter Savannah Chrisley picked up Todd from Florida, while Grayson Chrisley went to Kentucky to bring Julie home.
Chase, understandably emotional, shared a heartfelt statement with PEOPLE on May 27, a day before the official release. “I am grateful to God and extremely grateful to President Trump and his entire administration,” he said. “I’m beyond thankful to finally have my parents back home and my family together again!” He also followed it up on Instagram with multiple Story posts-including one where he and Grayson posed in “Make America Great Again” hats, captioned: “Thank you Mr. President!!”

Chase wasn’t the only one celebrating. Savannah, now 27, spoke to PEOPLE shortly after their parents came home, saying the feeling was “amazing” and still a bit “unreal.” She opened up about how much the family had been through-especially since she became the legal guardian of younger siblings Grayson, 19, and Chloe, 12, when Todd and Julie first went to prison.
“We are just so grateful and ready to kind of start getting back to normal life, obviously, the best we can,” Savannah said in the interview. “Everything’s a whirlwind right now, and it’s kind of hard to live a normal life with how things are, but we’ll get there.”
Despite the chaos and legal baggage, the Chrisleys are stepping right back into the spotlight. PEOPLE confirmed earlier this month that the family has a new docuseries coming to Lifetime, meaning fans won’t have to wait long to see how the reality TV crew navigates this major life reset. And now, with Todd and Julie finally back under one roof with their kids, the Chrisley comeback is looking very real.
From courtrooms and prison walls to redemptions and presidential pardons, the Chrisley family saga just added another wild chapter. And for Chase, turning 29 with his parents back home was more than a birthday-it was a second chance to finally have his family whole again.
