Clairo Drops Out of Primavera Sound Last Minute

Clairo has officially canceled her set at Primavera Sound 2025 and fans are heartbroken.

The 26-year-old singer was slated to perform in Barcelona on June 6 but dropped out due to behind-the-scenes logistical chaos. In a statement shared on Instagram, she broke the news saying she’s “so sad about it” and called the festival “iconic,” adding that returning to Primavera was something she’d been looking forward to for ages.

According to Clairo, the problem lies in getting her stage production in and out of Barcelona. She said, “There are some logistical issues with getting my show to/from Primavera that have forced my hand here. I never want to give my fans anything but the absolute best set I can do, and that won’t be possible at this time.” She apologized sincerely and said she hopes to make it up to fans soon.

Primavera Sound also responded with their own message, saying they’re “deeply saddened by this news and share the fans’ frustration.” They were just as eager to have Clairo back on their stage, and now they’re left scrambling to fill the gap in a stacked lineup.

June 6 will still see performances from acts like Sabrina Carpenter, HAIM, Beach House, TV On The Radio, and Wet Leg. Headliners across the other days include Charli XCX and Chappell Roan, so there’s still plenty to be excited about, but yeah, losing Clairo hurts.

This isn’t the first time Clairo’s had a complicated relationship with her music and performances. Not long ago, she opened up about how Charli XCX got her to revisit her hit song Sofia at the Laneway Festival. Clairo admitted she’d stopped playing it live, thinking no one would mind, but fans definitely noticed. “I got myself into a pickle,” she told Seventeen. Charli called her out on it and convinced her to perform the song together, and despite no soundcheck and barely any prep, they pulled it off, and it kind of reminded Clairo why she loved the track in the first place.

So while she won’t be in Barcelona this year there’s still hope she’ll return to the European festival scene soon, maybe with a show that meets her own high standards. Fans are just hoping that next time, things go a little smoother logistically.
