Jake Paul isn’t staying silent when it comes to the latest clash between Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer called out both high-profile figures for their public feud, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to slam their behavior as immature and damaging to the Republican Party.
The drama started on Thursday, June 5th, when Elon Musk blasted Trump over a controversial Republican spending bill. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO even went as far as calling for Trump to be impeached. Trump quickly hit back, threatening to pull federal contracts and tax subsidies from Musk’s companies. What had once been a powerful political alliance quickly turned into a messy online fight.
Jake Paul, who has publicly identified as a Republican, posted his thoughts on the situation, writing, “One of the problems with the Republican Party is on display today. (As a current Republican) We unfortunately have these Alpha male egos and leaders who aren’t mature enough sometimes. They’re 50+ years old and diss tweeting each other. Elon and Trump are great but they need to work together and not make America look bad.”
His words cut straight to the point: if the leaders of the party can’t stop throwing punches online, how are they supposed to lead a country?
Kanye West also chimed in, in his own way. Using his typical mix of emotion and emojis, Ye pleaded with both men to make peace. “Broooos please noooooo We love you both so much,” he posted, adding to the bizarre mix of celebrity and politics that seems to define today’s discourse.
Meanwhile, comedian and ‘Daily Show’ host Jon Stewart took a more sarcastic tone, questioning the wisdom of giving Musk access to sensitive government systems during his brief advisory role in the Trump administration. “Good thing Trump didn’t willfully hand over the entirety of our country’s operating system to Elon and his…oops,” he wrote.
The initial trigger for the clash came when Musk claimed credit for Trump’s 2024 election victory, saying that without his support, the Democrats would’ve taken control of both the House and Senate. Musk has been vocally against the Republican-backed spending bill, calling it “a disgusting abomination” that would push the U.S. deeper into debt.
Musk also accused the bill of being “outrageous” and “pork-filled,” claiming it would balloon the federal deficit to $2.5 trillion and saddle future generations with unsustainable debt.
Trump, on the other hand, said he was “very disappointed” in Musk, adding that his change of stance came only after realizing that the administration planned to cut electric vehicle mandates, a move that would hit Tesla hard.
As the online feud continues to gain attention, Jake Paul’s comments stand out as a rare call for unity. Whether Musk and Trump will listen is another story entirely, but one thing is clear, this drama isn’t over yet.
