The beloved ‘Harry Potter’ star, best known for playing Ron Weasley, took to social media to introduce the world to his new baby, named Goldie. In a post on Instagram, Rupert shared a partial glimpse of little Goldie, dressed in a onesie with the name “Goldie” embroidered on it. While the photo cropped out the baby’s face, Rupert’s caption, which read “‘Secret Child Slightly Revealed,’ Introducing Goldie G. Grint. The news of Rupert Grint’s second child came as a surprise to many fans, although the actor had previously been spotted in Hampstead, north London, with his newborn bundled up in a blanket. The photos, which were obtained by The Sun online, showed Rupert beaming with joy as he held his baby while Georgia, wearing sunglasses, gave the tot a loving kiss on the forehead.
Becoming a father has clearly had a big impact on Rupert, as he’s admitted in previous interviews that parenting has made him more protective. In fact, he joked that he’s become a “bit of a hypochondriac” since welcoming his first child. “I think becoming a dad forces you to discover things, and now I’m a bit of a hypochondriac. Everything seems dangerous,” he shared with People magazine.
Rupert also confessed that the first night he and Georgia brought Wednesday home was terrifying for him. “I don’t want to go too into detail, but the first night was just terrifying. You can’t sleep at all, just constantly checking that she’s breathing,” he told Esquire. He also humorously added that he had a mini “identity crisis” when becoming a father, unsure if he should change his wardrobe to “look more like a dad.”
As the Grint family grows, it’s clear that Rupert is embracing fatherhood with a lot of love and a little bit of humor. Whether it’s becoming more cautious around his daughter or joking about his “dad style,” he’s clearly adjusting to the exciting new chapter in his life.
