Nicole Scherzinger has officially added a Tony Award to her growing list of accolades.
The 46-year-old singer and actress took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her stunning portrayal of Norma Desmond in the Broadway revival of Sunset Boulevard.
Scherzinger, who rose to fame in the early 2000s with the Pussycat Dolls, gave a moving acceptance speech at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday night, June 8, 2025.
“Growing up, I always felt like I didn’t belong,” she said emotionally. “But you all have made me feel like I belong and I have come home at last. So if there is anyone who feels like they don’t belong or your time hasn’t come, don’t give up. Just keep on giving and giving because the world needs your love and light more than ever.”
This marks Scherzinger’s first Tony win, after previously earning an Olivier Award in London for the same role. She triumphed over strong competition including Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard (Death Becomes Her), Audra McDonald (Gypsy), and Jasmine Amy Rogers (Boop).
The night was also huge for Maybe Happy Ending, the quirky romantic musical about two robots falling in love. Darren Criss won Best Actor in a Musical for his role in the production, which also snagged Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Book, Best Original Score, and Best Scenic Design-six wins in total.
Meanwhile, the Tony for Best Play went to Purpose, a powerful family drama set in Chicago. Actress Kara Young won Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in Purpose, further highlighting the show’s impact.
On the play side, Succession star Sarah Snook was named Best Actress for her performance in The Picture of Dorian Gray, while Cole Escola beat out Hollywood heavyweight George Clooney to win Best Actor in a Play for Oh, Mary.
Sunset Boulevard didn’t stop with Scherzinger’s win. The production also took home Best Musical Revival and Best Lighting Design, making it one of the top winners of the night.
Other notable winners included Natalie Venetia Belcon (Buena Vista Social Club) for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, Jak Malone (Operation Mincemeat) for Best Featured Actor, and Francis Jue (Yellow Face) for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
With standout performances, emotional speeches, and surprises, the 2025 Tony Awards reminded everyone why Broadway remains one of the most powerful stages in the world.
Scherzinger’s win is not just a career milestone, but a powerful reminder that persistence and heart can take you all the way to the top.
Whether you’re a theater fan or someone chasing a dream, her words hit home: love always wins.
