No Camille in Season 5? Emily in Paris Fans Sound Off After Cast Reveal

Emily in Paris Season 5 is officially in motion with the cast reveal, but fans are buzzing over one big change – Camille Razat, who plays Camille, won’t be back.

Netflix dropped the cast list on Tudum, and yep, Razat’s name was nowhere to be seen. That’s a big shift considering she’s been part of the chaos, love triangles, and drama since the very beginning.

Camille’s character has always been tangled up in Emily and Gabriel’s rollercoaster relationship, playing the stylish frenemy with unpredictable loyalty. Her absence is already fueling theories about what this means for Gabriel’s future and how Emily’s storyline will pivot. So far, neither Netflix nor Razat has commented on whether this is a permanent goodbye or just a season-long break.

Returning to stir things up again are Lily Collins (Emily), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Ashley Park (Mindy), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie). Plus, Eugenio Franceschini, who plays Emily’s new Italian love interest Marcello, is sticking around – which makes total sense since Season 5 kicks off in Rome before heading back to Paris.

This shift in location follows the Season 4 finale where Emily was handed the keys to a new Roman branch of Agence Grateau. Now with Marcello staying in the picture, and Gabriel chasing that coveted Michelin star, we’re in for more messy love drama and career dilemmas.

Lucas Bravo returning is interesting, especially after he publicly voiced some doubts about his character’s development in past interviews. Last year, he told IndieWire he wasn’t even sure he wanted to be part of Season 5. But looks like either the script got juicier, or Bravo had a change of heart.

According to Collins, this new chapter is all about giving Emily a more grounded life. “We want Emily to be able to smile without condition,” she said in her Tudum interview. “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to have a better work/life balance.”

So what does this all mean? With Camille out, Marcello in, and the City of Love being temporarily swapped for the Eternal City, Season 5 is clearly setting up for a big tonal shift.

No release date has been announced yet, but filming kicks off in May. Until then, fans will just have to speculate about Camille’s exit and what’s next for Emily’s chaotic love life.

Are you sad to see Camille go? Think Marcello and Emily make a better match?
