Patrick Schwarzenegger’s White Lotus experience didn’t just stir up fans – it caught his fiancée Abby Champion totally off guard.
During his chat with Jimmy Fallon, Patrick spilled the behind-the-scenes tea on how Abby reacted to one of the show’s most viral moments – and it’s not what you’d expect.
Apparently, the moment Patrick landed the role, Abby was all over him for spoilers. First, she wanted to know who dies (obviously), but Patrick wasn’t budging. “I signed my life away,” he joked. Then came the real question – was there a sex scene involved? He told her there was, but didn’t reveal who it was with.
Fast forward to episode five, when things got real. Abby tuned in only to find Patrick’s character getting steamy… with his on-screen brother. Yep. That twist. Her reaction? Pure comedy. “You got with your brother?!” she said, completely floored. “You should’ve told me that way earlier – we would’ve had no fights!”
It wasn’t exactly an easy scene for Patrick either. Charlotte Le Bon, who co-stars with him, told Vulture that his reaction on-screen was 100% real. “We all thought he was going to throw up,” she said. Sam Nivola, the other half of the scene, also admitted it felt “very weird.” The two had become close friends off set, which only made filming the kiss scene feel extra awkward. “Patrick was already like a brother to me,” Sam told Variety. “It felt sort of messed up.”
This all came right after Patrick and Abby got engaged – romantic timing, right? He even had to delay their wedding plans to film the show. But Abby wasn’t mad about it. As a huge fan of the series, she was actually thrilled for him. “She was so happy, so ecstatic,” Patrick said during an earlier interview on The Drew Barrymore Show.
The White Lotus always finds a way to keep fans (and fiancées) on their toes, and Patrick Schwarzenegger’s storyline this season definitely did the job.
