Taylor Swift is officially taking her record-breaking Eras Tour to the small screen – again.
After months of fan theories, the global superstar has confirmed that her six-part docuseries titled Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era will premiere on December 12 on Disney+ and Hulu, with the first two episodes releasing simultaneously.
The announcement was made on Good Morning America on the most fitting day possible – October 13, Swift’s lucky number – sending Swifties into a frenzy. In her post on X, the singer wrote, “It was the end of an era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.”
The docuseries will give fans a deeply personal, behind-the-scenes look at the final stretch of Swift’s monumental Eras Tour, which became the highest-grossing concert tour of all time. Each of the six episodes will spotlight not just the tour itself, but the friendships, emotions, and creative process behind the phenomenon that defined the music industry for nearly two years.
Alongside The End of an Era, Disney+ will also release a separate feature film titled Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, which will include the much-anticipated “The Tortured Poets Department” segment that was added to the concert setlist earlier this year.
After the initial release, two new episodes of the docuseries will drop every week, giving fans a steady stream of never-before-seen content through the holiday season.
The series will feature cameos from many of Swift’s friends and collaborators, including Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch, alongside members of her tour crew, family, and dancers who helped bring the historic production to life.

The news came just a day after Good Morning America and Disney released a teaser trailer showing glimpses of the backstage chaos, candid interviews, and emotional tour moments. The teaser ended with Disney+ and Hulu logos, confirming the long-speculated streaming deal.
This marks Swift’s third major project with Disney, following 2020’s Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions and the 2023 Eras Tour concert film, which broke box-office records. The ABC network – which aired the announcement – also holds sentimental value for Swift, as it was the same platform where she first revealed her plans for the Eras Tour back in November 2022.
At that time, she told GMA viewers, “I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time and I’ve been planning for ages, and I finally get to tell you I’m going back on tour. The tour is called the Eras Tour, and it’s a journey through all of my musical eras.”
Filming for the docuseries reportedly began in August 2024 in London, where Swift premiered her “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” music video. The video subtly teased the presence of camera crews capturing her every move – from diving into the trap door during the show to hiding in the now-iconic cleaning cart between performances.
Fans later spotted film equipment and camera operators shadowing her across venues during the North American leg of the tour. Moments like Travis Kelce’s hug with Swift’s publicist in Indianapolis and the “22” hat moment in Miami are rumored to be part of the documentary’s footage. Even Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, makes an appearance, seen trading friendship bracelets with fans at Hard Rock Stadium.
In her For a Fortnight Challenge video on YouTube, Swift had also hinted at the documentary’s existence with a few rare rehearsal clips and glimpses of the Tortured Poets Department stage setup – subtle clues that fans quickly pieced together.
By the time the tour reached its final destination in Vancouver, the production setup had grown massive – with two flyover cameras, rolling camera tracks along the stage, jib arms, and drones capturing cinematic angles of the show and the crowd. Concertgoers even reported seeing “Drone Zone” signs posted around BC Place Stadium.
“This is so serious,” one attendee, Addy Miller, wrote on X after spotting the camera rigs.
Swift’s Eras Tour has already set a new standard for concert filmmaking. The 2023 theatrical version earned over $260 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing concert film in history. With The End of an Era series, Swift is once again redefining how live performances are preserved and shared – blending cinematic storytelling with her personal narrative of reflection, resilience, and evolution.
From All Too Well: The Short Film to Miss Americana and now The End of an Era, Taylor Swift’s ability to merge music and visual storytelling continues to evolve. For fans, this new docuseries isn’t just a behind-the-scenes look – it’s a front-row seat to history.
