T.H.E – Hey guys! Welcome to T.H.E – Music Essentials. How has 2020 kicked off for you?
Cheat Codes – 2020 is off to a hot start! We have No Service In The Hills ft Trippie Redd and Blackbear today and a big tour kicking off in a couple weeks. Can’t complain! Lots to do.
T.H.E – In terms of your productions, how would you define 2019? What have been some of your favourite releases last year?
Cheat Codes – 2019 was all about immersing ourselves in the dance lane and breaking through to the electronic community. ‘Who’s Got Your Love’ with our friend Daniel Blume was one of our favourite releases and is still going thanks to Love Island in the UK!
T.H.E – Your first release of the year drops on the last day of this month. What can you tell us about working with Blackbear & Trippie Redd on “No Service In The Hills”? What is the story behind the title?
Cheat Codes – This record has been in the pipeline for some time now – shoutout to our homie Lil Aaron for pulling the pieces together and helping to create an absolutely banger. We couldn’t think of a better fit than Trippie Redd and Blackbear for this song and we’re so happy to have their support.
T.H.E – We had a chance to preview the single, and it’s a bit different from your usual sounds. Is that what we can expect in 2020 from you guys?
Cheat Codes – We’re definitely looking to target an urban-pop sound with our upcoming album and some of the material we’ve been working on but have no fear there are plenty of pop and dance tracks on the way. Level 3 EP is going to bring some heat!
T.H.E – What can we expect from Cheat Codes in 2020? Are there any upcoming releases/collaborations we should keep an eye out for?
