Davi Hemann is known for his unadulterated, evocative smash hits such as ‘Spaces and ‘Blackjack’. At the age of 18, Davi’s music is already decimating dance floors across the globe and the young producer is on his way to stardom. We caught up with Davi to discuss his latest release ‘Together As One’.
T.H.E – What inspired ‘Together As One’?
Davi Hemann – I didn’t write the lyrics, but they inspired me so much to create the whole instrumental. Tupi really grinded and made an awesome job on the songwriting.
T.H.E – How did you come across Tupi?
Davi Hemann – He used to attend the same studio I go, so we met and he sent me the vocals idea and asked for a collaboration.
T.H.E – What were your top 3 plugins you used for this track?
Davi Hemann – My top 3 plugins for this track are Sylenth1 for the leads, Serum for chords and iZotope Ozone 5 for mastering.
T.H.E – What age did you start producing?
Davi Hemann – Even though I’ve first downloaded a DAW at the age of 10, I really got into producing when I was about 16 years old.
T.H.E – Have you got any tips to avoid common producing mistakes?
Davi Hemann – Always reference your track! I literally clear 90% of my mixing mistakes by referencing while producing the song.
T.H.E – What do you do outside of making music?
Davi Hemann – I like to be surrounded by my family and closest friends because they give me so much inspiration. When I’m not producing or with friends, either I’m playing video games or I’m reading.
T.H.E – How would you describe ‘Together As One’?
Davi Hemann – It is definitely a pop track with very catchy vocals. I think it gets the most out of my production and Tupi’s vocals. If you like to sing to songs while traveling or with friends, this one should doubtless be on your playlist.
T.H.E – You’ve had some great releases recently, where do you store all of your ideas?
Davi Hemann – Thanks! Hahaha. I’m always improvising music in my head and whenever I find something interesting, I record it straight on my phone to work on it later. This indeed happened with Together As One and Blackjack as well.
T.H.E – Have you got anything exciting planned for 2019?
Davi Hemann – Yes! University! I’m so excited to really study music in a proper environment. I think moving to the USA in 2019 will be the best move of my career. So, expect a lot of new music!
