EKEI is a brand-new label project from Greece that starts things off with a bang and features music from the label owner himself Alfie Rhodes, as well as Peruvian artist Sunday Noise.
Alfie Rhodes is a producer with works spanning back to 2014 and is known for releases on Flipside, EDM Underground, Dash Deep and having his standout tracks “Infinity” and “No Money” selected for multiple Big Mamas House Compilations.
Enlisting the extra expertise of Sunday Noise as the sole remixer on this EP, he is an artist making all the right moves. Resident DJ of the renowned Eco Sound club from his home country of Peru, he flaunts a back catalogue of labels that many would aspire to release on which includes labels like Steve Lawler’s VIVa LIMITED, Glasgow Underground, La Pera, Play Groove and Voltaire Music.
The lively title track “Flex On Me” by Alfie Rhodes also features vocalist JordanLivinGood with swanky lyrics about getting pumped up and rocking the gym, which add a killer hook and extra dimension to this tech house monster.
Second on the EP is the impressive Sunday Noise remix which begins with a teasing intro of popping, tribal percussion and soon followed by a wavey bassline and rattling drum hits. The breakdown is building intensity at its finest and no doubt is one set for sunkissed terraces the world over.
JordanLivinGood also contributes his captivating rhymes to the second original track “Online Ghost” which has a subtle groove from its bouncing bassline, dreamy chords and stripped-back hits making this a deep and enticing cut.
