Mysterious duo ATLiens and Australian bass producer Blanke have teamed up for the hard-hitting single “Contact,” out on Downright.
ATLiens have been recently sighted spreading their sinister sound around the globe as a part of their “Space Cult” tour, while Blanke has been making waves with releases on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label and high-profile remixes for Illenium, Marshmello, RL Grime and more. Combining both producers’ characteristic, dark sounds, “Contact” delivers menacing basslines layered with stabbing, serrating synths for an intergalactic assault to the senses. “Contact” follows ATLiens’ “IMMA,” “Exile” and “Interstellar” from 2018 as well as Blanke’s “Mixed Signals” collaboration with REZZ, setting the stage for a huge year to come for both. Catch a rare sighting of ATLiens on their remaining “Space Cult” tour dates in North America, and keep an eye out for Blanke’s live performance schedule this summer!
We may not know what their purpose on Earth is, but we do know that ATLiens have been gradually infiltrating the minds of electronic music fans since their initial releases; they first struck out with the hard-hitting “Watch Out,” featuring the Ragga Twins, and “Malfunction” with TYNAN. ATLiens then hit Earth with “Invasion,” EP full of bass-heavy, robotic tracks that caught the attention of humans around the globe. They have collaborated with Party Thieves, Bassnectar and Felmax and bolstered their stage presence with a massive worldwide tour, including their own showcase at Miami Music Week this year. Blanke is the newest artist they’ve brought into their energy field, who is best known for his remix of PNAU’s “Changa,” which was included in Billboard’s “10 Best Dance/Electronic Remixes of 2018” feature and also spent 6 months on Spotify’s Mint playlist. “Contact” is proof that ATLiens and Blanke are only getting stronger, so stay tuned for more hints from their world very soon.
