Following the success of their previous collaboration All 4 U, DJ Marky and Javeon unite again with new single ‘Dance Again’ via Shogun Audio ahead of Marky’s forthcoming album The Time Is Right and launch party at The Jazz Cafe.
From avid record collector to internationally revered DJ, producer, and label-head, DJ Marky has risen to global acclaim as one of the most charismatic and energetic mainstays in the D&B scene. Transfixed with records since the age of five to the point where he “never had many toys because all he ever wanted was records”, the Brazilian legend has since amassed at least 3,000 records partly inherited from and inspired by his parents, who filled the house with funk, jazz, soul, Brazilian bass and everything in between growing up.
The syncopation and passion of vibrancy present in the Brazilian music that surrounded DJ Marky as a child has greatly inspired the signature electric rhythms and flows of a discography that has seen releases on labels like Drum&Bass Arena, Symmetry Recordings, Warp Records, his own Innerground Recordings. Now he returns with a signing on Shogun Audio where talks of the longly-awaited album came to life a few years back with co-owner and DJ heavyweight Friction.
Known for his charismatic stage presence, this past year DJ Marky has graced stages across Love Saves The Day, Glastonbury and more. Still to come, he looks towards performances at El Dorado, NASS Festival, Tomorrowland, Hospitality on The Beach, Sun and Bass, We Out Here Festival, Rampage Festival, Sonar Festival and a special album launch party at London’s Jazz Cafe.
Meanwhile, joining him on latest single ‘Dance Again’, vocalist Javeon has earned his stripes in the D&B sphere with storytelling, R&B influenced vocals and stripped-back liquid sounds. Already boasting previous collaborations with DJ Marky such as Trouble with Pola & Bryson and All 4 U, which boast over 1M Spotify streams respectively, the formidable vocalist has already landed support from BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM.
Adding to his success in the dance music world, the Bristol-based vocalist boasts a diverse discography whilst becoming the first signing to Fraser T Smith’s publishing company Seventy Hertz. Fresh off a collaboration with SHOSH on Say Yeh, which landed KISS FM playlisting, the rising artist continues to shine as an artist in his own right and in demand collaborator.
Now setting the scene for DJ Marky’s album The Time Is Right out on the 21st July accompanied by an album launch party on the same at the Jazz Cafe in London, ‘Dance Again’ with Javeon is an unforgettable and energising piece of music that radiates lyrical and musical mastery, making for a cinematic and engulfing authentic sunset banger.
